A record number of women are running for public office in upcoming US elections.

Currently, there are only 6 women governors, only a fifth of our current members of Congress are women, and it's only a little bit better in the state legislatures - 25% of state legislature seats are held by women currently. Yet there are now 390 women running for seats in the House of Representatives, and 49 women running for Senate seats, and 79 running for governor, to say nothing of all the women running for local office. 

Do you think it's important for girls to see women running for office and holding office?
