Info about clomid help pls

So this month hubs and I tried but I didn’t track at all and I didn’t know when we BD if it was Ovulation day or the day after. Supposedly I’m getting my period tomorrow and I have been spotting brownish red since tuesday😪 I know AF is coming this month, and I’m gonna take clomid next month even though I really don’t want to and I’m nervous. I just don’t want to get any cysts bc I’ve had a cyst back in dec 2016 and it was so painful. Can you guys tell me more info about clomid and things that I should know?
