Advice please

So there’s this guy at my school we are really good friends. And I like him. But he doesn’t know. We always tease each other and stuff but I don’t know if I should just except the fact that he will never like me. I don’t know. We both run track and we are great friends but I’m scared that if I tell him anything our friendship will end. I am very shy and don’t like putting my self out there. Every guy I have liked it ended bad. I just don’t want this to happen with this guy. All my friends know but I’m just scared of telling something like this to him because I think of the things that would happen. Should I just wait it out and see how everything goes I don’t really know.
