What do you think ‘fits’ the stereotypical SAHM role.. UK BASED.

Question

1.  Either parent in a couple who chooses to stay at home whilst the other one goes out to work. Choosing to happily live only on one income. 
2. A single parent who is at home raising her child by herself, who is entitled to financial help and expected to return to work when their child starts school. 
I want to stress this is UK BASED as I know opinions differ greatly depending on what country you’re from. 🇬🇧

Why does there have to be a stereotypical SAHM role?

To me (I am in the U.K. so know the system) I would say it’s anyone who stays at home all day to care for a child/children. It doesn’t matter where the money comes from to support the lifestyle it’s the staying at home to provide care for a child that classes as a stay at home parent. That parent could even have a job where they work from home or run their own business but they would still be classed as a stay at home parent.

Either one. Although I worked 40 hours a week when I was a single mum, I realise some don’t have that luxury so have to stay at home. Either way they’re both the same to me.
