Pain after sex (its been awhile)

Me and my DH finally after 5 months started to have sex an ttc. We were told not to from our Dr when we found out we were going to MC then I had to wait because I was high risk for infection. We finally got the green light to go and we had sex 3 days in a row 2 times a day. By day three I was so sore it felt like my first time. I have never since loosing my virginity have gone 5 months with out. Is being sore normal?
