struggling

take note I'm 15, not that old but I know what I'm doing. I've been messing around with this 18 yr old boy for a while now and he's a major player. I want something more but when it's getting serious he's great when he sees me but when we're apart he's terrible at showing it, we have fun laugh and do things couples would do but he's really confusing. he is the WORST texter and really confuses me bc sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad. idk what to do. he's smart, a really nice guy, I just feel like he's afraid of commitment or something. we are constantly talking on and off and neither one of us can stand each other moving on, so I don't understand what's the problem and why he isnt popping the question. homecoming is Tomo and I mentioned to him Sunday night and I really want him to go with me but I'm still scared to bring it up because I think I hurt his feelings last night , HELP
