Baby too big already?

Im 35 weeks, 3 days. Doc did an us today and everything looked good but she estimates baby is about 6 lbs right now. I still have several weeks to go. That seems big and it scares me! Can anyone reassure me or help me find out how to not have a huge baby?

They said one of my nephews was 9 pounds and he was 6 pounds 14 ounces so I try not to worry tooooo much that my boy measures huge.

Had an apt yesterday (35 weeks) they estimated baby was 6lbs 5oz in the 74th percentile- I’m just hoping that means baby comes a wee bit early!

it's just a guess but there is nothing wrong with big babies. my first was 8lbs 13ozs and I barley tore or anything. I recovered super fast 2. this baby measured 6 pounds 3 ozs at 33 weeks and 8 lbs at 35+4. I'm expecting a 10 pound baby but I trust my body knows what to do. our bodies are amazing and can handle so much more than we give them credit for.

They estimated my twins at 5 and 6 pounds at 34+4. It's all just an estimate, ultimately.

I have no idea how big my baby is currently.. I’m sure she’s big lol given that at 30 weeks she was 3.5 lbs and I’m now 35 weeks 🙄 
My friend had to be induced at 35 weeks a few years ago because her little one was already a little over 8.5 lbs 😰 
My family and friends keep telling me my second is going to be bigger than my first who was 7.11 at 39 weeks 😫

I'm 36 weeks and just had my last scan, was told baby was 6lbs 9oz and no one seemed bothered that it was too big.
My midwife even said that's a good size  - I wouldn't worry as long as baby's healthy xx

Your baby won’t be ‘too’ big. It’s just a guesstimate.
