Sex hurts

I’m a little over 3 months pp and it still really hurts to have sex. Almost to the point where I don’t even wanna try.

My OB told me to use lube but it seems like that doesn’t even help. I had a few stitches on the side from a tear during birth. And I was told it is going to hurt after a baby.

But for how long? Do I have to keep having painful sex for it go away????
