Pregnancy flu questions

I am so worried because everyone around me has had the flu or a cold and Im trying my best not to get sick because im scared for the baby..,,, Im wondering if I do happen to catch a cold or flu how to deal with it and does it affect the baby or cause miscarriage... Im 13wk n I haven't taken anything other than a prenatal regardless of my pain.., Im scared to take anything... This is my first pregnancy so I don't know what will happen if I do.
