What to expect at 1st appointment?

I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and have my first appointment with my Dr on Friday. Could someone walk me through everything that happens in the 1st appointment? Should I bring my husband? Thank you!!

First visit they do a full work up, they'll take your basic vitals. Such as height, weight, and blood pressure. They'll then take a urine sample, and some blood for testing your levels. Your OB will do a pap and pelvic, and a medical history. I would  take your SO with, ypur OB can answer any questions or concerns you have  so far. We had our first sonogram on a Friday and my OB appointment on the Monday that same week.

My doctor did an ultrasound and that was it. I came back two weeks later for bloodwork and vitals.

I just had my 1st appointment yesterday and of course you do paperwork. Nurse calls you back and takes your weight, height, urine sample etc. Doctor then came in and did a pap, then talked about what to expect how often to come in. She did not do an ultrasound since there is not much to see. Then she left and had the nurse come in and take some blood. I am 7weeks 3 days and my husband and mom went with me, it's my first baby so we are all excited.

Most doctors do an ultra sound at the first appointment take your blood and urine ask questions about your family's medical history and let you know how often you will come in for appointments during your pregnancy. I would take hubby just because you will probably have an ultra sound but not all doctors do that on the first visit so don't be too disappointed if yours doesn't
