Anyone had polyhydramnios?

Question

I went for a scan yesterday at 32+2 and baby’s head measured 35w and abdomen measured 37w! I’ve also been told my fluid levels are at 30 and I have polyhydramnios. I have to have a glucose test Thursday to check for GD and they’ve done bloods to check for infection. My main concern now is my waters breaking early; has anyone had this before and if so when did you go into labour? Were you induced, c section or natural?

Not sure about the polyhydraminos, but a c section for a suspected “big baby” is not recommended by ACOG, unless other factors come into play. If you do end up having GD and can control via diet, that also shouldn’t mean an automatic c section. I know some doctors like to induce for poly due to the risk of prolapse, but if check actual data and ACOG recommendations to see if that’s actually evidence-based.

I'm 28 weeks and right on the cusp of it. I had a level II ultrasound due to complications and the waters measured 24.5 (specialist said 24 is considered normal max). I'm terrified of going into labor early. And I'm huuuge!

More than likely a c section now! They like to get the baby out quicker if they end up being big and there is risks having GD too, so they will always deliver earlier!
