Should I see a different doctor?

I’m 7 weeks and 2 days had my first ultra sound. My doctor already talked to me about induction. At 39 weeks... she rushed me with my last baby too. I was induced at 40w1d. (I agreed because if insurance reasons. If she was born in the new year I would have paid deductible 2x)I was in labor for 11 hrs.  I just think it’s really weird she already wants me to think about it. Why wouldn’t you want my body to prepare it self as much as possible? So new doctor? How did you guys pick your doctors?

Yeah that’s ridiculous. If there’s no issues, there’s so need to induce before you even reach your dang due date! A due date is really just an estimate, anyway, and can be off by up to 2 weeks! She could be trying to make a 37 week baby be born for no reason! She’s putting you and your baby at risk for no reason, which is not ethical to me. I’d run far away from her!

I personally went with the midwives that delivered at the hospital closest to us. I wanted minimal interventions and my midwife said she wouldn’t even consider induction until 41 weeks (obviously I’m talking about a healthy complication free pregnancy) I myself would find a new doctor, in a healthy complication free pregnancy an induction at 39 weeks is not needed.

i work in labor and delivery and she is actually right on asking.  its a normal time for any induction to happen and going over 40 weeks is potentially dangerous because the placenta starts to die and there is also higher risk of meconium.  but of course it is your choice.  i personally wouldn't choose another dr because of that. most people are very happy about being given that choice.
