Anxious I CANT decide what BC to use

I have been very anxious trying to decide what birth control would be best for me. Everyone says to go to your doctor and they will help you find a good match. Well my doctor wasn't the most helpful and ended up prescribing me the pill. This was very unsuccessful because I forgot to take it all the time. So I just stopped. Then I decided the shot would be perfect , but my best friend said she'd never choose the shot again because she gets very long periods . And I hear that one a lot and would like my periods to more so be removed because mine is so heavy. An IUD terrifies me and honestly no matter what anyone says about that one I'll probably never get one because of how much the idea of one bothers me, even though my other friend has one and loves it. I'm 20 years old , have had a boyfriend for a over a year , I need to make this decision before it's too late . And yes i am aware of other forms of bc but I don't have an opinion formed on those yet . Can somebody please put an end to my anxiety and tell me what has worked best for them/what they recommend . 😭
