Conflicted
Has anyone successfully used the patch or gum to quit smoking while pregnant?
I found out that I am expecting about a week ago, which was a bit of a surprise. But now I’m really struggling to stop smoking altogether - (which I am well aware is completely necessary; just much harder than I thought😩).
I had a doctor tell me once that it was safe to use any nicotine replacement therapy products, or at the very least safer than to keep actually smoking, of course. But now I’ve read some other information saying that the gum or lozenges are “safer” than the patch.
Naturally, I went out to buy a couple of options, tried the lozenges first... I could barely get through one without heartburn and felt super nauseous. So if that’s a no-go, I think I need to figure out the patch and get things moving along quicker, I just don’t want to cause any unnecessary harm!
Basically just wondering if any of you have gone through this or had positive outcomes with any particular method. If you’ve got some stories of experience or words of encouragement, be my guest!
