God first?

Question

how do you put GOD first? with out trying to gain something from him. I just want to put him first but I'm not sure how I do that. a lot of time women that I know say "if you want a man put GOD first" but I realized that I don't necessarily want a man. I just want GOD to be # 1in my life. how does one accomplish this without having a motive in mind.

i have asked myslef this question many times. Here is what ive learned: putting God first means that you simply acknowledge him in everything you do ..in your relationships in your decisions, in your wallk with him, your day to day. He wants to be the source of your life.often times we just put him in a " box "as if he is  a genie that can come out only when we need him or when we are too deep in a problem and we need a bail out. God is way too amazing that he does helps us out but he wants to let us know that all things exist for him and by him -it is for his glory- and that includes us. knowing him is Gods will. Knowing him is eternal life. Hope that helps a little bit. ☺

In Matthew 6:33,34 Jesus said,”Keep on, then, seeking first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these other things will be added to you. So never be anxious about the next day” Putting God’s will about anything else and making an effort to always do what’s right in his eyes is putting Him FIRST because we do everything to please him without wanting anything in return. Even then, or God is so generous that he repays all our work and dedication by providing all the “other things” like our basic physical necessities.

What I am trying to work on myself is spending time meditating and listening to God's word so that the Holy Spirit can help me hear what God's purpose is for my life. I try to be God's disciple through my relationships and through my work, and that's how I do my best to be an agent in repairing and restoring God's creation. Maybe listening to see what God's purpose is for your life could help you to put him first as you could use that path to create goals for yourself that are directly putting you closer to that purpose. Because the only motive in that is serving God and that's the only motive that has faith and love at it's center

You can't put God first without completely giving your entire yourself to Him, Him alone. no one should take His place, not even a man. In my life, God is First, my husband and then my son. My husband is the head, and God provides and guides my husband to lead his family as he should, I follow as a faithful wife and may our children follow our steps before them.

It is normal to want to do something to gain a reward. Why do you think God made it that way. It is our nature to do so. 
You will be blessed, you will get your hearts desire, you will have peace, you will get back what was stolen from you....-all these things and more God promises when you seek Him and His kingdom. 
Love God, think about Him and what he’s doing in your life all the time, put Him in every situation. Talk to Him, keep Him in mind. He just wants a relationship with you and it’s awesome that you are satisfied with just having Him. Most would love to get there.
He loves us so that we fall in love with Him too.

Whoever told you if you want a man then put God First is completely missing the point. You don’t put God First hoping to get something back in return. Then your motives are completely wrong. That is not how God works! That is what you call prosperity gospel. God is not a genie! You put God First because you love God, He is enough regardless if you have a man in your life or not,....I can go on but who ever told you that does not know Jesus for that to be their answer. They pretty much told you do this and you’ll get this out of it. God doesn’t always give us what our hearts want. Everything is according to His will and not our own.

I do daily routines with God. I read his word, books about his word, and pray first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening. I reflect on and study verses of the bible. I try to follow inspiring people on social media. one person you may be inspired by is Adara Sherron, on social media. I am currently reading stormie Omartian praying for God's Will in your life. I believe one needs to get to the point of just unconditionally loving God andntellimg him you love him. best wishes in your walk! ira different for everyone so what helps me might not be what's best for another person.

The way I think of it is, in everything make sure your first priority is bringing Him glory and honoring Him in your actions, thoughts, and motives.
