What do you ladies think of a woman who fakes being pregnant?

I’ve heard a lot of stories about women who fake being pregnant and I’ve always wondered what other people thought when they heard that, personally I think there’s no reason to lead a man or whomever on for the sake of attention or whatever they’re after. I think it’s wrong to mess with people’s emotions and lead them to believe something that isn’t true. What do you all think? Is the woman crazy? Or Is she just going through something no one else understands?

I think it depends on the intentions. Some women pull the pregnancy card to get their partner to stay with them, and that's not cool and it's deceitful. Or they do it to get special treatment or sympathy, also deceitful and wrong. When some women do it for attention or just lie for the hell of it, they might really be going through something and should seek out help.

Probably going through something. In things like this I think people should ask themselves “does this happen normally to people, do I do this? Is it healthy behaviour?” If it’s a no to that then chances are there’s something wrong with that individual and they need help.

Anytime anyone fakes something (medical problems, mental illness, death, pregnancy, etc), they have something else going on. Either they’re selfish or have a real problem that they’re masking with their fake problem.

My boos ex tried to fake a pregnancy when we got together. She just told us that there was no baby to begin with. She literally lied to David for 9 months about how she was having medical problems and how the baby “wouldn’t make it.” When I became pregnant she started telling David that she deserved to have a family with him, and that he needed to leave me because she didn’t think my child was his. Long story short she’s a crazy liar. So one day I’m sure I’ll see her around this tiny ass town with the man who is about to be my husband and our first son. I’m not saying I’m going to be rude to her, but I think she’s terrible. Don’t fake a pregnancy. Don’t fake a pregnancy to keep anyone around. It’s pathetic.

A lot of the time women fake pregnancies, they then fake miscarriages when the lie starts to catch up with them. Women like that are sick. 
People go through that on a daily basis and I can’t even imagine how it feels, so for someone to freely lie about such a triggering topic is unforgiveable to me. Especially when they personally know someone that is TTC or dealing with a loss, and are being consoled by them and allowing them to open up to try and help them “heal”. 
I personally don’t think its down to mental illness most of the time. All of the ones I have witnessed are to either be petty, to keep a man or to make someone feel guilty.

My cousins ex gf literally lied saying she was pregnant and then lied about having a miscarriage. Absolutely unacceptable. How can someone lie about that just so their partner stays with them? Get a grip plz.

I'd worry for her mental health and for the safety of pregnant people she may come into contact with. I have heard of women faking pregnancy and killing pregnant women to steal their baby. I think someone who can fake a pregnancy *could* be capable of murder when their "due date" comes around and they need to produce a baby.

I don’t think the intentions matter... it takes a lot of premeditation to fake a pregnancy. It’s not even close to okay.
