Induced vs natural?

So since I'm 2cm dilated and 50% effaced(I'm 39+5), my dr said I can be induced if I want to. However, i wanted to experience labor naturally. But I've also been miserable with carpal tunnel. My hands are constantly numb and tingly, nighttime is 716349 times worse and it keeps me awake. So I'm really tempted to be induced. Was just wanting some advice on the pros and cons of being induced. 
Also, if I go too far past my due date, I'll have to be induced anyway! Other than dilation and effacement, I have not had any contractions so I feel like this baby is never going to come! 
Any advice is appreciated.

Just to shed some light for you.  I was induced on my due date and was not dilated at all and my cervix was high hard and closed and my induction was very successful.  They inserted the cervidil at 8:30 the night before and left it in for 12 hours.  That caused me to contract regularly and when they took it out at 8am the next morning I was 4cm dilated.  My doc broke my water at that point and started Pitocin and my baby boy was here at 10:47 am ! Super smooth and quick! Best of luck!

I just wanted to say you’re not alone. I’m due today and induction was brought up last Monday. I want so badly to just let things happen naturally but I’m sooo miserable.

Get induced. It’s not the end of the world. It really isn’t. My last 2 were induced. I was full term. They simply broke my water, I went into labor, and had my boys 8 hrs later.

So you know your baby's station? If he's dropped. Do you recall how long ago? Have you lost your mucus plug, if so when? Are you a FTM?

The obvious answer will always be to wait, and let your body do what it’s intended to do, but there are several other circumstances to consider. Is baby measuring big? How’s your blood pressure doing? Have you tried a “sweep” yet? I’d trust your OB if he/she thinks your favorable for a successful induction, take that into consideration along with what your gut is telling you. It does increase the probability of a c-section, your labor will be much more intense and your contractions will likely be much more painful, but in the end it’s all up to you and how you’d like to proceed!
