Am i ready for sex?

My boyfriend and i have been dating for a while but we told each other that we were going to wait until we were out of high school to have sex. I have thought about having sex with him for a really long time and the other day i told him how i was feeling and that i really wanted to do it. He told me that he felt the same way and that he was ready. I’m not on birth control or anything but he said that he would go and get condoms. I feel like i’m ready and so does he but i don’t want to make any stupid decision.
