Do all formular brands taste the same?

Im clueless to formular feeding. baby is 4 months old - we are currently bottle training with breastmilk - returing to work in a week - cant pump enough milk to store in freezer - so I got hub to buy me baby formular while he was out and he got me the cheapest brand on earth (aldi - mama mia). i dont think baby likes the taste of it at all and i was thinking of buying one of the more expensive brands. hub says they all taste alike, and that baby wont like it the same

I would post this is the formula room. Most of us here breastfeed and have no idea what formula tastes like. Or ask your pediatrician which one they recommend.

Formula doesn't all taste the same. I was under this impression myself. We had to give baby Similac in the hospital because his blood sugar levels fell to low and he took it. We also supplementes with Holle, which he took without any issues. I had some samples of Enfamil Gentlease which my son refused over and over again, desk being ravenous each time (I kept formula samples in my diaper bag for emergency). That last time I tasted it and it was NASTY and left this horrible bitter aftertaste. I have since tasted Holle and while it's not tasty, it's edible. We went with Holle because it contains a lot less crap (additives, genetically modified or synthetically derived ingredients) compared to American brands.

They all taste awful. 
I used Similac Sensitive for my first, breastfed until 7 months with my second and then used Parents Choice Sensitivity, breastfed until 4 months with my 3rd and then switched to parents choice sensitivity. 
The nutritional value is EXACTLY the same between the store brands (sams, target, Kroger, Walmart) and the enfamil/similac formulas. I am speaking on the sensitive ones because those are the ones I used. The only difference I found in them was that the texture of the powder in the more expensive brands seemed more fine than the parents choice. However, it made no difference when it came to mixing and feeding.

Some of the most expensive (anti-allergy, hydrolyzed) formulas taste the worst.  
Though I haven’t tasted formula, to me they all smell bad. If I had to do formula I’d probably read reviews and ingredients lists. Amazon.com is a good place for reviews even if you don’t buy it there.

I've never tasted them, but my doctor suggested name brand until 6 months... we use enfamil gentlease
