How did you wean baby off breastmilk?

My daughter is ten and a half months old and I’d like to be done with breastfeeding by around the time of her first birthday. I’m a first time mum, though, so don’t really know how I should go about it. I don’t think I can start weaning her just yet because she won’t drink formula, but when she’s closer to twelve months old do I start to gradually cut the milk out and just give her water of cows milk in lieu of breastmilk, or can I just cut the breastmilk off cold turkey?
Any tips and advice would be much appreciated!!

Don't cut breastmilk cold turkey. You will be uncomfortable and engorged. Also, it won't be as smooth and gradual transition for your LO. 
I'd introduce cows milk a little at a time once she turns 12 months until you're no longer BF

I want to know too!! I have a 5 month old that I’m wanting to be off the boob by 7 months because I’m currently expecting my second baby but I feel like it’s gonna be so hard. I don’t even know where to begin or what to even do 😩

You can try mixing your milk with cows milk and gradually put less and less until she just wants cows milk

My pediatrician said the earliest a baby can be exposed to cows milk is 11 months. 12 months is what is recommended. It has to do with the development of their intestines, they are not physically ready other mammals milk until closer to 12 months. 
She recommended to me to just start about 4 weeks before you want to be “done” and gradually add more cow milk instead of breast milk. She said to start with 80-20, then mid week 60-40. Then by the following week it should be 50-50 and 70-30. By the third week, 20-80. Then the final week should be 90-10/100 cow milk.
