Constipation?

Hey, moms. My little one is 5.5 months old. She's EBF, so she only poops every 4-5 days. However, she's been that many without pooping, and when she tried recently, she pushed like it was explosive, and when I changed, it was a little solid ball that didn't even make it out from between her cheeks. What can I do for this?

They say exclusively breastfeed babies can go a week without pooping. But I find if my daughter doesn't get enough hindmilk and is only really drinking foremilk that she will go longer between pooping. Also too much vitamin D can cause the body to retain too much calcium and can cause constipation. You know your baby best. I'm just sharing the things I know. Good luck.

Have you started giving her water yet? If you put 1/4 if a teaspoon of caro syrup (the clear one) with like 2oz of water and have her drink it throughout the day it’ll help. My daughter was constantly getting constipated to where I had to put her on soy lacto free formula to finally get her to go normal and to this day (she’s 1.5) every so often I have to incorporate some sort of blueberries or grape in to her snacks for a few days straight to get her regular again
