Semen analysis question

My husband had his semen analysis yesterday after seeing a urologist a couple weeks ago. The urologist gave him a lab requisition, and he had to go to an outside lab to do the test. Do the labs typically send results straight to the doctor or to the patient? My husband has his follow up visit with the urologist next week and I can tell that he'd prefer to go alone to the appointment. I respect that but do want to know his exact results, and he's fine with that. I see a lot of people posting a copy of the lab results on here. .. did you get those from the lab or the doctor? Also have any of you experienced your SO not having enough semen volume for the analysis? What's done in that case? My husband ejaculates such a small amount of semen that we're worried it wasn't enough to even analyze.
