what age did you give your lil one forks and spoons?

when did you give the little a fork or spoon? how did they react to it? mine looks at it and throws it.

my son just turned a year old & he knows what to do with a fork/spoon but definitely makes a big mess lol....I still feed him certain things myself.

My 16 month old is only now trying to master the fork and spoon. Before they were just toys to gnaw and throw and she didn’t seem to know/care about the difference between the handle and the fork/spoon end. 
Now she seems to ‘get’ it, but she not scooping up real bites, she’s ‘dipping’ her fork/spoon in her food and bringing it up to her mouth regardless of whether she picked up anything on her utensil. So I still have to help her scoop up real bites of food.

I started offering them regularly with his meals around 12 months. He’s 17 months now and can use them with some things sometimes, but he’s generally pretty awful at it and still uses his hands.

We started doing preloaded spoons around 9 months. he still likes being fed mostly though

My 5 month old plays with his / moves it to his mouth. We don’t give him with food on it, but since 4 months we’ve been giving him it to learn
