Tips?

This is my first time trying to concieve. I have been trying for about 3 to 4 months now, and i know these things take time, but are there some tips that you can give me? Also, I was curious and couldn't find anything on the Internet: I had an ingenual(sp?) Hernia when i was about 6 or 7. I had to have surgery on it twice, after the second one I had no further complications. Can this effect my chances of conception? Thanks in advance!
