Skin Care: mixing essential oils with sunscreen?

I'm wanting to take better care of my skin. Could I mix essential oils with sunscreen or other lotions. I would want to make a weeks supply, at least. I'm wondering if any chemicals in the lotions or other factors would cause the EO benefits to diminish. Thoughts?

Wearing sunscreen is a great way to take care of your skin and diminish the effects of sun exposure and signs of aging.   A few drops of EO shouldn't alter the efficacy of your sunscreen, especially if you whip it up in small batches.   Just be sure the EO itself is ok for skin or your own sensitivities.

Fyi, I'm no dermatologist but I do work for a skincare manufacturer - we make sunscreens, too.   Most sunscreen formulations tolerate minimal scent or EO changes well.

You can, but do some research first! I use plant based lotions (not petroleum) and add oils to them. Lavendar is great for skin. Carrot seed oil is super high in natural SPF. Certain oils help repel bugs .... Love making mixes! So many options! Just do some research first. :)

I use cold pressed olive oil and castor oil to cleanse my face every night.  I went from adult cystic acne to flawless skin. I don't need the extra sunscreen or moisturizer with my ratios everyone is different good luck
