What is everyone’s opinion on castor oil to try and induce labor?

Not saying I will. I’m Just curious as I am 38 weeks and in excruciating pain due to my hips and knees and just all around want to cry I’m so uncomfortable and no signs of this baby coming out.

Absolutely not. It can cause your baby to poop and inhale that. I’m a labor and delivery nurse and have seen plenty of babies end up in the NICU because of it. Some docs will induce at 39w for maternal discomfort but if not, deal with it mama! Being uncomfortable is part of the last few weeks of pregnancy and not worth harming your baby over

Try taking some Evening Primrose Oil tablets, they help soften your cervix.

My sister tried it and it didn’t work. She was then told by her nurse practitioner not to use that.
