Can a man hit a woman?

My bestfriend was hit by her man. 
She says it was her fault because she they were arguing and she started to yell at him calling him names and bringing him very low, cursing him out etc etc so thats why he hit her in the face. She never put her hands on him but she said she provoked him verbally. (Obviously she was blinded by emotions thats why acted that way) shes sorry and apologize to him and so did he )
Is that still a reason ????

Women in abusive situations make excuses constantly.
Unless he is defending himself no he can’t hit her. She can’t hit him either both are wrong. Yelling and verbally attacking him is wrong but not an excise for violence.

Relationships should never get physically violent like that. If he thought she crossed the line in the way she was talking to him there are more appropriate ways to handle that. Me and my husband have had arguments where we have both said things we shouldn’t have and have hurt each other but we’ve never hit each other because of it. You walk away from the situation if you’re getting worked up and when you’re calm you go back to it and talk about it like adults. Doesn’t look like he can handle that and she needs to leave him

No one should hit anyone. This relationship needs to be trashed because it is not healthy at all. Verbal abuse is not okay. Physical abuse is not okay. Abuse is not okay and if it is at all present, then it needs to stop immediately or the two people need to go their separate ways. People rarely just stop being abusive so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I would encourage her to see that the relationship isn’t healthy and continue to be in her life despite any attempts of her being isolated from friends and family.

no that is not a reason I don't care if she provoked it, It doesn't matter what the reason  was or what the fight was over, there is no reason for anyone a man to put their hands on anyone.  I really hope you tell your friend to leave that relationship because it looks like it's starting out to become an abusive relationship. This is already a red flag because she's already starting to see that it's her fault and he's going to take control of that situation to continue to hit her. The minute any man lays a hand on you ,you leave immediately.
