Help... confused...

So I started talking to a guy from an orchestra group im in two weeks ago and everything was great. We eventually started flirting with each other and until a few days ago we would flirt constantly with each other. But then he told me that he just gotten out of a relationship with a girl 3 weeks ago, but that they lost feelings with each other 3 months ago. I told him I kinda want to wait to be his girlfriend cause 3 weeks seems a little short and I didn't want to seem like a rebound or anything... He said it was ok, but now he acts different and doesn't text me that much or flirt at all... Idk what I did but I really like him and I want it to go back to the flirting... What do I do? Why is he being so distant?...😥😞
