Can I paint? 👩🏼‍🎨

Question

Husband says I can’t do any of the painting for the nursery because he doesn’t want me around fumes. I want to play a role in creating the nursery. 
Is this true? No paint for pregnant ladies?

The paint these days is so much different than it was back then. Definitely safe. You can even ask your hardware store which is the safest of the safest. Back then they used to use oil based paints etc. I’m paranoid about everything and this is fine. However if I was you I would be like “ok hunny bunny. Your wish is my command” and not lift a damnnnn finger Hahahaha. But I get it. I actually helped my husband because he is SLOW as hell and SOOOOO SLOPPY 🤦🏻‍♀️. I mean I suck at painting as well so... 😬😬😬 but I’m still better than him haha...

Yes you can paint lol I painted my nursery at 11 weeks by myself while my husband was at work !! We painted our sons nursery 5 years ago at 20 weeks and he’s healthy as can be lol just open a window you will be fine !!!

My husband got no VOC paint so I could help. We had windows open and I wore a mask just to be safe.

Yes you can paint in a ventilated room, but I am if he’s going to do it for yo more power to him 😂

I helped paint my son's nursery at 34 weeks. I had the fan on, the door open and the window wide open. I also wore a mask as an extra precaution and took breaks every 15 minutes. My husband would actually call me from work every 15 minutes to make sure I wasn't in there too long 😂

If you are REALLY worried you can get a fume mask for like $20 and low VOC paint.

I'm pretty sure if we're aloud to go into nail salons we're aloud to paint! Just make sure it's ventilated and you'll be fine!

there haven't been a lot of studies on how paint fumes effect baby. it is believed that it can cross the placenta and there are many studies that show negative effects of fumes to people in general. I think you shouldn't risk it and make certain the room is aired out before moving baby gear back in.
