does he like me? What do I do..

so I have this friend and we’ve been talking for roughly 2 weeks now. When we first started talking it was good (fast forward 2 days) we finally decided to hangout and it was at his house. We hung out in his room & when I left he made the first move to hug me. The next day we ended up hanging out again and we ended up kissing, making out, and having sex... I asked him afterwards “are you gonna stop talking to me now?” And he said “no, you deserve more respect than that..” and so things were going good! We hung out again a week later and watched movies and cuddled but then a few days later we got on a sour subject of exes... he said that right now he actually just wants to be friends b/c he wants to focus on work and school (which I completely understand! Same with me) and so we’re “friends” and we don’t flirt with each other or say “good morning” or “good night” anymore. but I went over to his house the other day and he just played video games and we sat & did nothing. But then, when I went to leave, he walked me out and gave me a hug, and then texted me good night and good morning all on his own...(am I the only one that’s getting mixed signals?) but now he’s acting all dry again! I’m so confused by what he wants! I really really like him so I don’t want to give myself false hopes or react to eagerly to him bc I don’t wanna set him off, you know what I mean...? I need some major girl advice..
