Cramping on the Pill

Elizabeth

I was on the pill several years ago. I took it for a year and didn't like what it did to me emotionally, so I quit (I was on it for painful/heavy periods). Around that time, I got married to my long-term love, and we started TTC immediately. Two years later, I've been diagnosed with PCOS and had a year of fertility treatment. It all got to be too much for me (the pain of the cramps is completely excruciating and sent me to the ER. I've passed out from the pain a few times and hyperventilated from it every time it comes.) so we gave up TTC and I went on the pill again. This was 3 weeks ago. I've been cramping (not severe and not constant) since about the 5th day of starting the pill. Is this normal? I can't remember because it's been so long since the last time I took it
