Will...This...Period...Ever...Stop...

So I got my iud Inserted January 26th, and I got my first period after it on Valentine’s Day. And it hasn’t stopped since. Is this normal? I can’t tell if I’m still on my period or if I’m just spotting more heavily. My discharge is very very dark, I’d almost say on the black or very dark maroon color, with some blot clots, but not a lot. I told my gyno about this, and she said if it didn’t stop within two weeks, she’s put me on the pill. Oi!! I was trying to avoid that, as I’m very forgetful, so I’m just really wondering if I should just ride this out, and I need someone’s opinion. I REALLY really want to love my IUD :( but it ain’t showin methe love back rn.
