Need advice

I am currently breastfeeding my 1 week old daughter and pumping once a day just to help with supply and start a freezer stash. I am thinking about exclusively pumping as being the sole person able to feed my daughter is very stressful for me. However, I will be having to travel for work on weekends and will sometimes have a schedule that will make it hard to pump. I will be bringing my baby with me when I travel and would be able to breastfeed easier than pump I think. Has anyone had success exclusively pumping but still occasionally breastfeeding? How do you pump in public when needed?
