When did you stop having your period on the Mirena IUD?

I got my Mirena IUD placed about 2 1/2 months ago & I haven’t had a real period at all. During the first month I was spotting every day, then I had about 2 days of heavier spotting and I haven’t spotted since. It’s been more than 5 weeks without a period is this normal? My doctor said women stop having periods about a year after but this is only my second month. Anyone in a similar situation or been in this situation?

I am going on my fourth month with Mirena and my period has yet to come on! I tested yesterday and it came back negative. If my period doesn’t come on within two weeks I’m going to go to the doctor to get checked. I found it odd as well because if it takes at least a year for your period to stop I should be having one still.

I had a SUPER light spotting the month after it was placed and then haven’t had a period again since, and it’s been 6 years and 2 iuds.

I had mine placed in July of 2015 and had regular periods for the first year and a half before they finally lightened up and now they’re light spotting to two or three days long each month.

my mirena was placed July 14, 2016. I had some light periods for maybe 4-5 months then it completely stopped. I have had few instances of spotting but it's rare.

Hey girl! ive had the Minerva UID since December 14th 2016 and my periods haven’t exactly stopped but there nothing like before! I was the girl who would be unable to walk from agonising period pains (I got tested for PSO and Other things and They where all no) now I have the type of spotting that lasts a week almost. But it’s not enough to wear a tampon/pad/panty liner but it’s enough to show up on tissue when you wipe? So hopefully you’ll be the same xx

I just got my second period with mirena and it was 16 days late but it’s really light now. A lot if women I know said they stopped within a couple of months. I wouldn’t worry.
