When is it ok to take off a wedding ring?

My fiancé and I were looking at wedding rings for him i don’t remember what i said but he responded with “I’m never taking it off.” I asked him if he’s sure like not even in bed and he said “never”

You should consider the kind of metal it will be too. If it's a harder metal they may not be able to cut it off in the case of it getting stuck on something or his hand swelling. Tungsten and such metals can cause a lot of damage to the finger because of that. So if he were sleeping and for whatever reason his hand started swelling and he didn't notice until he woke up, the ring could be stuck there. So, I agree with most comments here: working out, showering/washing hands, cleaning, handyman type work (car repairs, bigger home repairs, etc), and sleeping.

I work in healthcare and a lot of married men and women here wear silicone rings to work. You can get packs of them for super cheap on amazon in different colors but might be an option if he gets his hands dirty and you don’t want his real ring getting dinged up.
I also let out an “aw” because I think it’s super sweet he wants to keep it on all the time- but maybe having silicone for work and his real ring for the rest of the time would be a better option.

you can take it off whenever you feel like. I always take mine off when I do yoga. I have a hard time focusing and if it hits the floor I always think about it. it's OK to take your ring off.

There’s no rule to when you can take it off, it’s just a ring. 
Some people are very sensitive to metals. My grandpa never wore his cause it bothered his skin so badly.

I take mine off whenever I need to. Dishes, showers, bedtime, etc. Now, if he wanted to take it off only when he’s around other people and mainly girls, I’d have a problem with that but how could I tell my husband to never take off his ring if I take mine off?

I never take mine off except when I get to pregnant and afraid it’ll get stuck lol. My hubby is army and has to take his off for the field and stuff but he has a silicone one he wears instead. He’s never without a ring

I take my diamond and band off for work (my hands get banged up and full of grease), when I'm cleaning (if I'm using bleach or anything harsh) and when I do dishes. 
his ring is black ceramic and carbon fiber and he's a carpenter and does mechanic work after work so he only wears it when he's home/days he's not banging around on something.
