My dad hates the guy I like... help...please

Idk why he doesn't like him he met him twice but says he's arrogant. I'm so confused and I really like this guy but my dad is super strict and I don't want my mom have to lie to him just to cover my ass. i dont like talking to my dad about anything serious cuz hes an intimidating person and my eyes turn into niagra falls. And to make it even better the guy I like is probably leaving my school after this year. What do I do?
