i found some cute short dresses but whenever i look up prom dresses all i see are long dresses. some girls at my school wore short dresses last year but i’m not sure what to wear, i don’t want to be the only one wearing a short dress.

Honey, go ahead and wear what ever dress you like the most. I wore a short dress to my prom and don't have any regrets. It was definitely nice to not worry about stepping on the dress while walking/dancing

If you like short, go with short. Some of these gowns I've been seeing are totally overboard for a prom and I'd be pissed if I was the parent paying for it to be worn like a wedding dress - once.

long. if you want to wear short that’s fine but in my opinion prom is the most formal event of your high school career and a short dress just screams homecoming
