She’s here❤️ our labor story!

Nichole • 24. Married 💍. Mommy to a sweet baby girl ❤️

Kinzley Marie made her grand appearance March 4th at 9:17 pm. 7 lbs 12 oz, 20 inches long. She’s absolutely perfect and we are so in love.

Started cramping 830 am March 4th. Later around 1030 they were finally 5-10 minutes apart so we decided to get everything together and get me checked.

We arrived around noon and my contractions were starting to become more painful but nothing crazy. I was dialated to a 4 and was 30% efface. they wanted to see me progress so we had to walk around the hospital for 2 hours. we got back to the room after a long walk and lunch, I was at a 5 and 50% efface. My contractions now were definitely getting to me. I was having a hard time breathing through them.

They got me to my next room and I was on a ball for about a half hour and it wasn’t helping me at all since I had bad back labor along with frontal labor. They came in about 2 hours later to check me and I was at a good 6-7. I then got my epidural. For anyone scared of an epidural: don’t be! literally felt like a tiny bee sting and then I felt nothing after that. From my belly button down I couldn’t move. I felt nothing.

Then about an hour later I started feeling contractions. Which was odd. And it was just my right side. so they had to wait for the anesthesiologist to come back. By that time my contractions were PAINFUL. I was shaking and getting frustrated. so come to find out, it was OFF. The damn thing wasn’t on. SOOO then he gave me an extra dose to speed up to where I was feeling good.

He must have gave me a little too much because initially he said he only wanted me to feel 70%-90% pain relief. Because when it comes time to push they want you to feel when you need to. BUT once that extra dose kicked in it was time. And I couldn’t feel ANYTHING. They had to put my legs in the stirrups for me and tell me when I was contracting. At about 9:10 I was fully dilated and 100% efface.

Pushed for less than 5 minutes. Maybe 10 pushes and she was out. Now healing.. sucks. It’s nothing TERRIBLE, but it does suck the second day. I’m sitting here a little over 24 hours after delivery and it’s painful in my butt and vaginal area and cramps are painful. But nothing some Tylenol and Motrin can’t fix.

Don’t worry soon to be moms, once you see the baby it’s all worth it. And don’t let anyone’s horror story get to you. Everyone is different!
