Long distance :(

Last year I met one of my best friends. Soon after we met we started dating, but it didn’t work out for us. We only dated a month but it was probably the best relationship I’ve ever had. We remained friends afterwards. Last semester over winter break he moved back to Arizona (I live in Oregon) we got even closer before he left, almost having feelings for each other again. We continue to talk still. He told me that he really wanted to kiss me before he left, but didn’t want to confuse me. (He had also just ended a relationship with someone). We told each other how we feel and how we would like to try things again one day but like, obviously that won’t work. We continue to talk a lot still and Skype. He’s told me he loves me and I’ve told him the same. But the distance is so much and it sucks cause I can’t be with him. We’re both sophomores in high school and have different paths for our future. Is it worth it to still have hopes for a relationship with him eventually? It sucks that I can’t be with him and we’ve had things w other people but that sucked too. I just would like opinions on the situation and what other people would do.
