Should Smoking cigarettes be illegal?

"Many cities have banned smoking in public Places ,should smoking cigarettes be banned in public places ? Is second hand smoke as big risk as we have been led to believe ? "
If marijuana is illegal and a "smoke" then why are cigarettes still legal when it's very hurtful to your body? If smoking can cause damage even when your not the one holding it then why is it still okay to have around .what do you all think about cigarettes should it also be illegal? Should it not matter? What are your all opinions

Once you start regulating, everything is up for debate. We went through this during prohibition. Making it illegal does nothing.

My campus and the city Parks are now no smoke zones (it is legal to smoke marijuana here so that applies as well). It's really nice to go to the park and not have to deal with second hand smoke.

I don't think they should be illegal, but I like states that make it illegal to smoke in public places. I do think it should be illegal to smoke with a child in the car though.

No. It makes sense to limit public consumption, because it can hurt other people. However, making something illegal does not prevent people from doing it.

Smoking is legal because they get to tax the crap out of it... A 25 pack of winfield  was $10 now it's $28 in Australia.

Hospitals and nursing homes in Australia are smoke free zones. All public places like malls have a 3+ meters from the door rule.

Those who smoke do it at their own risk, same with alcohol. The only reason marijuana is illegal and considered a drug is because it's an hallucinogen. There are still laws and restrictions for cigarettes.

I'm not a smoker but I don't necessarily think it should be illegal. If someone wants to fill their lungs with smoke then so be it. However, I do think those who smoke with a child in the car should be ticketed.
