now that he's home
my birth story is long and not very happy to begin with I was high risk due to diabetes and towards the end I developed gestational hypertension so baby had to be delivered at 37 weeks to be safe I had entry concerns but everyone kept telling me he would be fine well the Monday before my scheduled C-section I went to my final check up and my blood pressure was high and the protein in my urine had gone up so I was sent straight to labor and delivery to be monitored until the C-section on February 20th I was brought into surgery the spinal blvock hurt like hell but it worked my son was born at 8:36 am weighing 6lbs 4oz I only got to see him for a minute before he was carried off to the NICU and they continued with tieing my tubes then I was brought back to my room where I anxiously awaiting for them to bring me my baby but hours Emt by and still didn't get him finally 12 hours after my surgery a nurse came from the NICU and told me that his blood sugar was low so he had to be put on iv and that once he was able to sustain a good level they would bring him to me well the next morning when they came and removed the catheter I was told once I used the bathroom I could get in a wheelchair and go see him in the nursery I did that automatically so I enter the NICU and there my baby is with an iv in his arm and a feeding tube in his nose I started crying no one had come and told me that the iv was not working and they were going to have to put a canula in his nose I was then informed that he would not be c9ming to the room with me sugar was still unstable two days go by of me getting in the wheelchair going to the NICU to see my baby for thirty minutes at a time seeing other babies getting to leave to go to their mothers room and here he is stuck with all these tubes and wires on him they then inform me that he has severe jaundice and has to go under the light but the feeding tube can come out he has learned to suck and swallow now four days after birth they come to tell me that he will not be coming home with me that day then my doctor c9mes in and tells me I won't be discharged either my blood pressure and sugar still has not become stable I was relieved did not want to leave my baby yet fast forward to 5 days after birth babies levels are all good and mine are safe enough to be released on medication we got to go home together and as of today my baby is 2 weeks old and doing well I'm not miss being pregnant my due date is not for another week and regretting getting tubes tied
