What will happen?

I need a root canal and a tooth pulled after I have my baby in a few weeks. It causes me so much pain and since it’s in a nerve I can’t really wait much longer than after birth. But I plan on breastfeeding and it’s important too me that I do. And this is my first baby so I’m just wondering if you guys have any experience or advice on what will happen when I get this work done. It will probably be 4-6 hours at the dentist and away from my newborn.

I’m mostly wondering about my supply. I’ve heard that surgery or traumatic things can make your milk basically stop completely. And I would be devastated if that happened.
