Boyfriend & nose piercing..

Okay ladies I need some opinions. I cant figure out if I'm in the wrong or not. I've been wanting my nose pierced for a long time but never had the balls to do it. My boyfriend of a year told me he hated them and they're "trashy" and I'll look "emo". Well, I'm not one to let someone dictate what I want to do when it comes to my body. If I want a small stud in my nose because it makes me feel prettier, I feel as if I should do it. So I did it! I got my nose pierced yesterday and LOVE it. He said he feels disrespected & like his opinions don't matter.. He's making me take it out, and said he's "scared" of what his family will think of me. Should I just take it out to make him happy and just ignore my wants for him?
