Baby running temp of 37.8 degrees and noticed this? What is it and is it bad ?

Cutis marmorata is characterized by a symmetrical, lacy, reticular, red-purple mottling of the skin after exposure to cold temperatures. It usually is observed on the extremities and trunk. The evanescent, lacy network of small blood vessels is due to an exaggerated vasomotor response to cold temperatures that produces vasospasm, with subsequent hypoxia and vasodilatation of venules and capillaries. The mottling disappears when the skin is warmed.

Medical research hasn't determined an exact correlation between oral, rectal, ear, armpit, and forehead temperature measurements. Generally, the correlation of temperature results are as follows:
The average normal oral temperature is 37°C (98.6°F).
A rectal temperature is 0.3°C (0.5°F) to 0.6°C (1°F) higher than an oral temperature.
An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.3°C (0.5°F) to 0.6°C (1°F) higher than an oral temperature.
An armpit (axillary) temperature is usually 0.3°C (0.5°F) to 0.6°C (1°F) lower than an oral temperature.
A forehead (temporal) scanner is usually 0.3°C (0.5°F) to 0.6°C (1°F) lower than an oral temperature.
So depending on how you took the baby’s temp. It’s either completely normal or getting close to fever.

It's called mottling and can be completely normal with a low grade fever that's due to a mild viral illness or teething. HOWEVER, it can also be a sign of some serious infections. I would definitely take baby in to be checked out ❤

37.8 degrees? Some babies skin looks like that I don't think anything is wrong with that .
