I want to get the IUD

Hi, so I've been thinking about getting the hormonal IUD for a while and I think I'm finally ready to set up an appointment with my doctor for it. I am 19 years old, a little overweight, no known allergies, and in perfect health. Are there any concerns I should have? I'm pretty set on this form of birthcontrol, but have been told its only for older women, or women who have already gone through a pregnancy.
