I heard chirping..*adding updates
But I have no idea where it's coming from.
They do start chirping in the egg before they hatch.
They are in lock down. The only reason I open it now is to add more water and keep humidity up.
Their shells are way more susceptible to bacteria entering at this point and that's a reason for a lot of late deaths in hatching.-bacteria.
So I'm not touching them to find out who it is. I've already touched them once today, that will probably be the last time unless they absolutely need help. All I can do is listen and watch. But, I'll introduce you to Steve via the incubator window. *UPDATE: Steve hatched. Pictures below.

Steve wiggles the most. But, as soon as I try to catch it on camera it stops. Someone named another egg mr wiggles who stopped wiggling (that's not bad. That's normal) but today the wiggle worm is Steve.
Steve is a butthole.
But yeah, this is my announcement that the hatching has started and is progressing.
If i have any updates on them I'll post it in my group. They are at the end of day 19, going on day 20.
And someone is talking smack in their egg right now. (Probably Steve)
Edit
It's 8:31 am and nothing has changed 😂 oh my god why does this take so long 😩
So the one that was chirping didn't ever break the shell and as you can see it's been a whole damn day. so I made a safety hole. They only have so much air in the air cell. I really don't want them to die. This is hard to explain because it involves candling but I could see the labored breathing in the egg so I made this here, a so called "safety hole" (the arrow is pointing to the hole) and as soon as it got more air it started breathing better. It's wiggling again and chirping quietly.

SO WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS. SLOWLY BUT SURELY.
Internal pip photo: that triangle looking thing is a chicken beak. It's breathing and opening its mouth in the egg, getting a taste of that air.

It's 10 am and I checked on this egg and it's chirping and I can literally feel it tapping the shell through the egg it's trying so hard. I'll give it this whole day. It's better to help later than too early and kill it.
They will seem ready and still not be done cooking even though it's day 21
I just got home, it's 6:30 and guess what I found

Later on

And mr wiggles made a pip
Told you mr wiggles not wiggling was no big deal. He's on his way.

Go check out my group to see what I did for the one that pipped below the air cell and broke its blood vessels.
Edit #500:
The safety hole egg has pipped. Pink arrow is pointing at the safety hole, yellow arrow is the pip. AND THERES STEVE. JUST FUCKIN CHILLIN.

Update: I assisted one to hatch and he's making progress, recovering from almost dying.

One is zipping the egg, but I can't look. Any time I look, it stops. If I walk away and come back there's more happening.
It will probably be out by the time I wake up tomorrow
The others are resting
Update: just watched one hatch

Update: there's 4 hatched chickens
UPDATE: STEVE IS BORN.

When I tried to get his picture: still a turd

Bonus cuteness (not Steve)

Also, about mr wiggles and safety hole egg, (there was two safety hole egg, in the pic where the hatch is happening you can see the hole) they hatched by themselves when i was asleep and I have no idea which one is which. 😂 I just woke up to a bunch of chickens trying to beat the incubator up
What's annoying me is that even though they came from different colored eggs, they all look the same. I guess they all took after the rooster? There's only one.
Edit; they have all hatched. Update: okay so when I finally felt like they would be okay to be left alone, i fell asleep at 5:30 in the morning..The incubator shot up to 120 degrees and killed every single "younger egg"
That completely broke my heart. So today I clean out this incubator, take out all the dead eggs and just to be sure I candle them. Well, remember steves twin? It was moving. It's still alive. It's even wiggling the egg. I have my very own nemo.

It's the last one.
I will keep you updated on my nemo egg. Its not due to hatch until tomorrow.
It could be Tuesday for as long as the others took.
Update: nemo egg is still alive but hasn't hatched.
If you still want to see the chicken doodles, i asked my mom to take them all out and take pictures when she gets home later. It was her eggs and her incubator so they're her chickens. She just didn't know how to hatch them so I did it.
Annnd she's about to buy a better incubator. So as soon as we get that we are doing this again. Hopefully things turn out better. For people who want to know what incubator i used: farm innovators pro series digital incubator.. aka piece of shit that fried half my eggs
I do not know how nemo is still alive, it baffles me.
