Pain during sex? Need advice

Beatrice

Hi everybody,

this is my first post here and I'm Italian, hope I won't screw this up too bad ;)

To be concise, I've got a big problem: I'm experiencing pain during sex. It's something that's been happening only recently, I used to be able to have sex marathons with my SO without getting sore in the slightest... It's VERY frustrating tbh.

Basically, every time my bf enters (and especially if we've already had sex earlier or the day before) I feel a stinging pain in my vulva. It's worse right in the beginning of the act and gets progressively better as we go on. Usually it disappears completely within 5 minutes and I manage to have regular orgasms, but sometimes the discomfort is so severe that it doesn't fade until my man cums (weird I know, but I think his sperm might have some analgesic properties... lol ). Some positions are more painful than others, doggie and cowgirl are the worst. It's not a lubrication problem - I'm always really wet and besides we DO use lube to help ease the pain a little.

It doesn't prevent me from having sex, but it isn't normal, my bf is worried and feels guilty every time we do it. I love him to death and enjoy giving him pleasure every way I can, but this is getting really uncomfortable and I'm starting to get concerned.

The issue isn't excessive frequency of intercourse, either - we're still in school and living with our respective parents, sometimes we go as long as two weeks without making love. When we have time we can have sex for hours straight but, as I already said, in the 9 months we've been together that has never been a problem.

I really don't know what could be the cause. I'm not pregnant (on birth control, had my period during placebo days, still tested and got a negative) nor do I have any other health condition that could be related.

The only thing I can think of is that I've had a yeast infection about a month ago. I treated it as I was supposed to, but what if it had some consequences? Has anybody experienced something similar? Should I see my gynecologist? Or could it be stress (I've been through a lot of it lately)?

I'd really appreciate if some of you ladies could help me out. Thanks in advance :)
