Married to a Mama’s boy...

M.

So, this is going to be a little long post/rant - I appreciate you reading it and any help or tips will be helpful!

So, me and my husband had been in a long distance relationship for 11 years. Different countries and all - so we only got to meet like 3 times - 3rd time being when we got engaged. We finally got married last year (not quite a year fully yet - anniversary is in April). He moved to US - didn’t care for it much.. it took him a while until he started to get the hang of things here and was starting to like it - lo and behold, within 10 months he decided he wanted to go visit his family back in his country- didn’t you just freaking move here?

On top of that he use to talk to his mom atleast 3 times a damn day and with his dad atleast once a day. Wth?! I knew he was close to his parents but this was out of control according to me and if I said anything to him - he got defensive. You are 27 years old. Grow the fuck up. Now he went to visit them for 2 MONTHS and I’m suppose to go visit too next week. It’s ridiculous- I’m going but my main reason is to go visit my grandma.

On top of it all - he wanted to celebrate our 1st anniversary over there with his family. He was out of his goddamn mind. I nixed that right away- it took some effort and sense from me - he wasn’t too happy but he agreed - now we are planning to celebrate in the states away from both sides of the family.

I need to wean him off from his damn mother. I love her. I do. She is sweet but very cunning. And I need him to take my side over theirs over everything. I need to be a priority too which I don’t feel when it comes to his parents and me. And Who the hell needs to talk to your mom 5 times a day? Grow up.

Any advice/ comments/suggestions are appreciated. This is really frustrating
