Is this normal?

I got my IUD about a month ago and this week I have been experiencing sharp pains in what feels like my uterus. It feel like my uterus is squeezing and the IUD is poking me. I figure it will take some time for my body to adjust to the IUD, but does everyone experience this?

Yes, its normal. I’ve had my iud for almost two years and sometimes still experience this pain. It’s happens less frequently though.

Normal, likely just more sensitive to your body right now. I’m sure your dr warned you the cramping may be stronger as well as more or longer bleeding when your period comes. I found at first it delayed my cycle to abnormally long lengths but it’s slowly adjusting back to the regular 28 days it was previously. If you’re ever concerned, call your dr, but likely they will see you about 6 weeks following insertion to make sure everything’s all well.
