Irritable uterus? Anyone else been in this position?

Question

35 weeks tomorrow and last night ended up at birth unit. Was having irregular contractions for about 4 hours. The longest gap i had between them was 25 minutes and closest they got was 4 minutes. They picked them up on the monitor CTG machine. I had an internal done and was told my cervix was closed and they did a test to see if i will go into labour within 7 days and it came back negative so they sent me home and said i had a irritable uterus. Anyone else had this??

I’ve had this since 32/33 weeks!! They were able to stop my contractions at 33 weeks when I stayed in hospital for two nights and I’ve been back home on mostly bed rest ever since. It’s super annoying but hasn’t turned into anything. I’m now 38 +1 and am
Going in for my section tomorrow so there is still every chance you will make it to fullterm! It’s just super frustrating not being able to do much in the final weeks. For me my Irritable uterus was bad every time I got up or was walking around. I cut out salty foods and drank lots of water which seemed to help too. Goodluck 😊

I had this at 25 weeks. They started at 1:00pm and didn’t end until midnight. It was New Years. They did the fetalfibronectin test to see if I was going to deliver in the next 2 weeks that came back negative. They gave me two does of procardia to get them to stop. They did and ultrasound. I have a shortened cervix. I was having about 10 contractions in an hour.

I had the same thing happen to me at 32 weeks! 
I’ve still been having the contractions off and on, but no other signs of preterm labor as of yet, and I’m now 34 + 4. My doc said he’d be doing a cervix check again at 36 weeks to see where I’m at.

Never heard of an irritable uterus, but I had prodromal labor with my first. I went to L&D; about 3 times and thought I was crazy! I would have regular contractions, getting longer, stronger, and closer together, for twelve hours a day. They would start before lunch, and stop at bedtime. By a week in, I was at about 4 cm, and exhausted. Finally, after 4 weeks, I had a full day without contractions, and went into labor at bedtime! I started having contractions at 37 weeks, and ended up having him at 40+6!

i have an irritable uterus. my bh started around 20 weeks and turned into timeable contractions by 25 weeks. at 27 weeks i was in the hospital for 5 days and given meds to stop them as well as steroid shots. the meds didnt work but since my cervix wasnt really changing i was sent home and put on bedrest. im 36 weeks now and i still get contractions constantly. it makes it really hard to know when I should go in or not so ive just been waiting for them to get so painful that i cant talk through them or for my water to break. really hoping they turn into something before my scheduled csection so i can still try for vbac.
